It would be more believable if Xue Er’s father offered his daughter as compensation because that would make sense politically, but why would Cang Yue demand for her husband to take another princess as his wife? If anything, she might be quite the political threat to her own power and position.

                Though ungrateful they do have a reason to act this aggressively. As we already know, their Ancient Guardian Deity (The Phoenix) just died and its heir (The Princess) is not strong enough to protect their Empire. And what they need is in Yun Che’s Kingdom…specifically just outside his hometown.

                This gets explained in a bit but has already been alluded to during the Tournament before Yun Che got trapped inside the Profound Ark and was lost.

           Its the Phoenix Empire invading their country. He saved their princess by not letting her getting raeped by that Holy Son from one of the Holy Lands.
           The reason why they’re invading is because they found a huge deposit of Spirit Stones in the continent just right outside the MC’s Hometown, they need those stones to support their Empire because the Phoenix Entity that protected them has finally passed and gave its last Will and Blood to the Princess who is still to weak to protect the Empire from the Holy Lands taking over them (basically only the same Holy Land that the guy who tried to raep their princess is from).

        The official reason is that he was busy organizing the funeral of the Little Demon Empress and they mourned for a month (I think) and after that, he spent the next 2 months bribing and threatening the other clans so that he would be crowned Demon Emperor. I just so happens that the day he was to be officially crown is also the day Yun Che and Little Demon Empress finished cultivating.

I dropped the LN just before MC attacks south divine region. So I don’t know if my theory of Xia Qingyu about hiding the blue pole star inside her pocket dimension is going to happen and everyone still be there. My theory came from what happened with their marriage contract, Qingyu destroyed it when she wanted nothing to do with MC, but then it was there again and gave it to MC in a later chapter. This made me think what if Qingyu could make everyone see that she destroys the blue pole star just like the marriage contract and just secretly hidden it in her pocket dimension? it was always mentioned that she has a unique body that could have her own little world/pocket dimension so I think there is a possibility there. She just couldn’t tell MC so that MC can focus on getting stronger and killing all of them bastards who betrayed him. who ever is updated please tell me if Qingyu ever returns from the void! Also if the dragon queen ever returns with their child still alive!
